Exotic fish division
Tasty Bake (Exotic Fish Division) began importing fresh fish in the 1990’s having recognized that we were heading toward a global market. They built a reputation for quality, size graded fish and today regularly import species such as snappers from Australia, swordfish from the Indian Ocean, tuna & marlin from Oman, Maldives, Indonesia and halibuts from North America.
Most of Tasty Bake’s customers have been quick to realise that by offering a more comprehensive range of top quality and competitive priced species, would broaden their own customer base too. The new textures and flavours of these foreign species attract new clientele and encourage them to improvise. They also realised that sourcing of exotics species, air-freighting and documentation of the consignments could be left completely to Tasty Bake who did all that for them – leaving them to concentrate on selling the fish and attracting more customers.
Each week we import to the UK, fresh chilled fish from Spain, Greece, Far East, Middle East and South America. Product arrives to Heathrow airport each Monday and is dispatched over night to most UK markets and towns to arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Minimum delivery 25kg.

Fish processing
We offer fish processing facilities from a modern facility built by us at Birmingham in 2004. Fish can be delivered to the clod store adjacent and we can discale, gut, fillet and/or vacuum pack to order.

"Refresh" products
A recent innovation offered by Tasty-Bake is our "Refresh" products range. In a 12 hour cycle, these fish are caught and frozen at -40C whilst still on board the vessel. Tasty-Bake import direct from the vessel and store in our freezer at Birmingham. It is then defrosted and vacuum packed to order.
The result is a product that in real terms is only 2-3 days old* by the time our customer takes delivery. Shelf life when packed is an acceptable 8-10 days and prices are very competitive.
